“A man’s health can be judged by which he takes two at a time – pills or stairs.”
This quote from Joan Welsh presents the daily predicament most of us go through. Is it better to take pills and try to escape from an inescapable situation? Or is it better to take the stairs, a daily, minuscule action, that can compound into a healthier life? Welsh perfectly sums up a fork in our life deciding between reactive and proactive decisions, deciding between convenience now or later. Small steps matter, literally. Physical health is one of the most important aspects of yourself that is controllable and beneficial. When working out or exercising you must remember: consistency is key. You could work out for 10 hours in one day and never work out again but that would not do your hard work justice. However, you will see results if you work for only 15 minutes a day for long periods. Maintaining your physical health can be as simple as walking around your house. Whether playing soccer with friends or taking the stairs instead of the elevator, you are already reaping 50% of the benefits. Consistent exercise will give you a cleaner body, a healthier lifestyle, and a stronger mindset for the rest of your life.
